Problem is not with credit cards it’s with people thinking it’s free cash. Spend within your means

@Mitch10bands

How do people end up accumulating large amounts of credit card debt, and what factors contribute to their inability to control their spending despite not being able to afford their purchases? i am genuinely curious lol

@DarleneR-k4y

Pay them off each month and there’s no problem. At all.

@chatchat9242

Been using credit card since I was in high school, now I’m 40 years old, never had issue with using credit card, and I barely use cash for many years.

@4thegood927

I have one for online purchases. Would never use my debit card online. Just pay it off each month.

@User-pu3lc

Nah I feel great. Pay it off in full every month and use the perks to get flights for free based on my normal living expenses.

It also serves as a layer of protection in the event I lose my card/my card number gets stolen. Would rather that go than my debt card and criminals have access to my accounts directly.

@AlmightyDude420

With credit cards, you either rack up points or cash back.
You get money back from your purchases with NO CATCH.

All you have to do is pay it on time every month. Just set it to auto-pay. They company makes money off of people who don't pay up. Just DON'T be stupid-it's REALLY EASY to just NOT be stupid.

Credit cards are awesome and everyone should use them. If you somehow manage to get in credit card debt, then you deserve to be, as it is completely on you. Financial natural selection is what it is. You can sit back and enjoy that nice cash-back collected from all the stupids.

It's honestly remarkable that credit card companies stay profitable, considering how little of a hassle it is to just simply pay for what you pay for, on time.

@andrewfrey5562

No, i pay mine off weekly and rack up points.

@GuadalupeYbarra-i1d

I have a credit card I use on my bill or anything I need for pay it off every month and still have savings and my homes are paid off no I don't feel stupid it works out great for me

@rainbowbird1986

never had one never will

@DenizY-062

If you do it wisely, it's really okay

@BrokenGodEnt

If you pay it off before the interest kicks in youre making money through the points system. The problem is very few people use them like that. They see the points and pay the minimum monthly and are happy. Not realizing, or not caring, that the interest that theyre paying is dwarfing the points theyre earning.

@annascott2317

Not me. I followed ur advice years ago. I only have 1 gas card that i hsvent used in 5 years. I have no other cards and my credit score is 749. I have no other debt. I paid off my trailer 5 years. Wish i had bought a house and not a trailer but it is what it is. Im 75 now.

@rbraghat4743

I love my card, but i never borrow any money

@tankerd1847

The trick is to never use them for anything you don't have money for or wouldn't otherwise pay on time, like bills. The mistake people make with them is spending money they don't have.

@switchbladeromance1466

Nope.. I get security when I spend overseas

@coyotejc1

An oversimplified explanation of the truth, for many of us.
The credit card is a means of convenience.

@deathab0ve

I have 3, 2 paid off ASAP, the other is for food and groceries. I try to pay it off entirely monthly, but sometimes it slips. Either way 2% interest in 1 month is less than the 5% cash back I get.

@kenrice

No, I do not feel stupid, used, or manipulated. For the past twenty years, I have used three airline mile credit cards to pay for all purchases and miscellaneous expenses. My credit score ranges from 825 to 850, and I have additional consumer protection against defective products. Using accumulated air miles to travel in business class instead of economy is a delightful experience. Ensure you pay off your credit card in full as soon as the charges appear on the credit card's secure website.

@Veenic22

The people who keep saying just pay off your credit card every month is missing the message. Having a credit card is an illusion of wealth/ money. You subconsciously spend more because the card is not directly attached to your income. And you spend more money because you have time to pay something off that is what Dave is saying. You are feeding the machine
