Definitely didn't expect to see an incestuous activity in a YouTube video about VOC, what a way to end the year. Good work Mitsi Studio.
I was not expecting a 50 second long reenactment of the Hapsburgs loving time tradition
An R-rated history lesson we all need...and I still feel bad for the dodo birds
The reason why the Dutch could trade with the Japanese and not the Spanish was because the Spanish kept trying to turn Japan Christian and the Dutch promised not to… lol
I thought I was watching youtube, not Mitsi hub.
1:09 - 1:59 was the longest 50 seconds of my life.
There's more than one chapter in every year in Indonesian history lessons that discusses this trading company, from the history of its formation to its end. and yes, I'm impressed
As a South African I can confirm the Dutch East India Company was in fact not always in the indies
I have a silver VOC coin. I handle it with gloves not because it's antique and fragile but because that thing surely has been scratched on so many person's back
they totally did not need to animate 1:06 but they did anyways, that's why I love this channel
Was not expecting a steamy scene earlier in the vid, but this is a really great video about the VOC!
While everyone knows about the British colonisation, it’s great to see the great success the Dutch had covered!
Can't begin to imagine the ingenuity of mankind to be able to sail across continents with sheets nails and wood and tar
Ah yes, VOC. The only european faction who realized bribing Southeast Asian kings is better than fighting them wholesale!
That Habsburg scene is fucking burnt into my brain now, I think my brain is on fire, I’m gonna take a shower and think about my life.
As an Indonesian I am trembling
I'm honoured to know my ancestor worked hard for the dutch. Terima kasih Mitsi Studio.
Mitsi Studio Be Like: "This Video Contains Historical Information And Educates People About The Past!" ALSO MITSI STUDIO "Here Is 49 Seconds Of Pure (breeding) For 'Historical' Purposes!" Happy New Year Everyone! :)
Potato was introduced to Europe at roughly the same time. The Dutch came to Asia to colonize trade. They also introduced their culture there and that include the foods. In Indonesia, potato is well known as ''kentang''. In Japan, it was called ''jaga imo'' back then, which means ''jaga 'bulbs''. Jaga maybe came from Jayakarta, nowadays the port city is well known as Jakarta. So, in a nutshell, before the birth of internet, the world was connected by the potatoes.
