There are still a few Stuckey'a left.There were several celebrity backed restaurants that failed.Roy Rogers Roadt Beef was successful for years,but none of the others relly were In addition to Minnie Pearl's Fried Chicken,There was Broadway Joe's Hamburgers and Trini Lopez had some Mexican Restaurants,they all failed.There was a Broadway Joe's in Austin.I passed by it a few times and never saw anyone in there but employees.There was a Sizzler on IH 10 in the east side of Houston I dined at frequently.I realky liked their steak and langostino.They served fun at Shakey's(also pizza).I enjoyed going there,watching movies joining in their sing alongs.There was a Lum's in my hometown for a few years.I never heard anyone say anything but they didn't like it.

We had a Mr. Steak in Kalamazoo. My youngest brother worked there. Pioneer Chicken was mentioned in the Warren Zevon song, "Carmelita"

The thing I miss most about Howard Johnson's is the mocha chip ice cream.
