Even as an artist that’s in a rut, these videos are helpful. No matter how long I’ve been doing this (10 years at this point) it’s good to never forget the basics
I do appreciate this as a weekly thing. Whether I just woke up or when I just got home from work. Or when I'm in an art rut, stuck and losing motivation. This class and Marc's voice always comes through and makes my day better.
This month marks one year since I started learning digital drawing, and I saw a bit of progress overall, I hope I can continue to improve next year, thanks for all the videos you made Marc!
I’ve been drawing for a few years, I’m a sophomore in art school (not college yet I’ll heed your words) and all of this is still so useful. Also I cannot stress enough the importance of finding a group of artists online, I was lucky enough to find an amazing one and thanks to them I’m where I’m at now. Having people who are competitive and supportive is such a great thing to have and you’ll learn so much, from our little collabs, tournaments, and current comic anthology.
Woah you just low key explained my whole drawing experience, I'm currently trying to get better at fundementals since like a year or so. I'm still really passionate about art and not burnt out after many years, so the steps you described are great for people who tend to give up on learning easily, great video!
Marc you continue to have the most motivational art videos on YouTube. I love how you lay out realistic plans and remind us to not be too hard on ourselves, but to also keep making goals and moving forward.
just got my wacom one a few days ago and i feel like im improving really fast thanks to u ur a amazing teacher and actually explain things in detail other than rushing
I just started the 3rd step. That’s why I subscribed to you a few days ago. My current struggles are stable lineart and shading. However, I already have a goal to eventually take commissions.
First step is to be early to class. Which I am
i'd really love to see something about art styles and the different art types, since its such a broad topic that's hard to navigate as a beginner artist. i appreciate the videos you make, and this video was insightful. thank u marc <3
Man of culture right here, call him sensei marc
WOW, I love your fanart, they are always awesome, I hope you do Attack on Titan poses, because they are super dynamic and hard to draw, I want to learn that from you ❤
Yep this is what i have wanted to know for a while because wanting to be good at something is great and all and telling people to work on the fundamentals before they even have a reason to practice all of it IMO is self defeating. You are essentially trying to reach for something you might not be interested in and waste your time when understanding what you want from the beginning would actually give you a place to start and slowly improve.
If you're looking for a drawing tablet for something like krita, i recommend the HUION H610 PRO V2, its like $52 USD and it works perfectly. It doesn't have too many functions but it is fantastic for something so cheap. If you want a very easy introduction into digital art, i recommend it. No need to spend $300 on a wacom tablet that you can't properly use yet (plus wacom is insane price wise.)
Your Videos have been a great help so far, I'm really thankful for all of your effort. I'm currently trying to get a foot into digital art too (esp. illustrations in a comic/manga style) and did a lot of traditional heraldic art first, so I can use all the help I can get :D
Someone made it simple thank god
Best digital art teacher out there yessirr. Btw Mark, i think the community would really appreciate a video of you on the AI topic, also we understand if you dont want to get into this kind of stuff, but just wanted to say, people like you talking about it is highly valuable for the community
I notice since I been slowly graining confidence and faith in my art skill honesty doing art contests 7:03.
Marc your channel has really helped me improve my art and I just wanted to say thank you SO much
