Probably the best video on closed comedones on YT rn! Super underrated from number of views too
4:51 salicylic acid Azelaic acid Benzoyl peroxide 6:42 retinoids Vitamin-A
You often talk about the efficacy of azelaic acid, but I am personally a bit afraid of drying out my skin as I have skin prone to imperfections but also eczema. I've heard that azeloglycine is much gentler, what do you think about this, maybe you could do a video or short about it?
This is so helpful, thank you and yes please to more on this subject! Would you be able to explain how to incorporate these ingredients into a routine please? For example, are these ingredients best used together, weekly or daily, morning or night? Thank you so much
I used to be that clog picker with the tweezers! I use salicylic acid once in a while, prob should more, but use azelaic acid every day. I think mine are lot less noticeable than they used to be pre Dr Sam's magical products and advice! Thank you 🙂
Such a pretty kitty, and such timely advice. Thank you.
Very informative! Didn’t know glycolic acid was not the product for closed comedones.
So helpful. I have a series on my chin which occasionally turn into cysts which recur. During a time of stress recently this happened on my cheeks, chin and jaw! I use salicylic acid most days though in my cleanser so helpful to see the roots.... Very much need to start considering retinoids!
I am using Clinique take the day off cleansing balm...it's for whatever reason the only thing that doesn't break me down. I also use the ordinary azelaic acid and since I have rosacea I am trying the Kiehl's micro dose retinol which is 0.1%...not sure if I can go stronger, but so far I use it only once a week...that's how much my skin is sensitive 🙈😃
Thank you for this video! I have struggled with closed comedones for decades and nothing seems to help. I actually have very dry skin, so not only does salicylic acid not work, it dries my skin out terribly. What about mandelic acid? I have heard it is somewhat oil soluble and can get into the pore but be less drying.
Sam I love your channel You give words and meaning to my years of experience One of the other points id like to ask/ suggest, I find when clients dry out their skin so much it closes in on itself protecting it from TEWL and then the proliferation of the c acne a Bacteria and closed comedones Thank you for the education you offer us Always fascinating
Thanks you for this informative video!😊 So if balms are not recommended, what is the best cleanser for stubborn Sunscreen?
You are excellent!!! I loved this explanation
I’m using ur moisturise intense for 3mo now and on the 2nd month using ur wash and neutral gel but still having close comodone and acne on jawlines
Thank you for the excellent presentation. So clearly exp!ained.
??? Regarding closed comedones that do or don't have puss at minute 3:33 area? This is rather confusing, I have what looks like whitish puss top on what I assume is a closed comedone, but if it's not white puss, than why the whitish appearance at the very top? ( that's my first question, and my 2nd question is, if I have the type that later has turned into some type of inflammed closed comeodone and that's the reason for the whitish appearance, than is this as good as place to start as any : Benzoyl Peroxide for a few days by itself or Benzoyl Peroxide in the morning followed 3 to 4 hours later by a layer of BHA/Salicylic Acid in the afternoon ?
Dr. Sam, if any skin has well tolerance and regular user of tretinoin, can azelaic acid and tretinoin be used together at night?
This was so informative thanks
what does a weekly routine look like?
