Welcome to Positano - a picturesque town on Italy's Amalfi Coast. Positano clings to steep cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The pastel-colored buildings seem to cascade toward the water which makes this town a tourist favourite for day trips in the area from Sorrento, Salerno and other places - even up to Naples.

On this evening tour we walk towards the city center. We see the Church of Santa Maria Assunta which features a majolica-tiled dome and a Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary. Local legend says the icon was brought by sailors in the 12th century.

We walk narrow streets lined with artisan shops selling handmade sandals and "Moda Positano" clothing.

Spiaggia Grande is a lively beach, while Fornillo offers a quieter escape. Scenic walking paths connect hidden corners, including views of the Li Galli islands, said to be home to sirens in Greek mythology.

Our walking tour through the town shows its charm at the end of the tourist season - end of October - where we end our tour just near our starting point near the bus stop for a nice view of this Amalfi coast town.
