In this video, Louee from Survive History speaks to Richard Crocker of the 95th Rifles, to discuss the 'fire and retire' tactics used by British skirmishers in the Napoleonic Wars. The Baker rifle used by the British riflemen had a much greater range than the French smoothbore musket, so they could pick off their enemy at a distance and force them to advance into the path of the main British army.
