◇Scenario
Our main character is a shrine maiden, working in a shrine built hundreds of years ago. She’s rather gloomy and downbeat, and doesn’t take well to being told what to do. She does not slack off on her job of cleaning the shrine every day as the shrine maiden, however.

She was born into the family that runs the shrine, whose boys would become the head, and girls become shrine maidens. What was once a thriving shrine with many lively visitors is now weary, run-down, and sees fewer days with visitors than days without. Her father, head of the shrine, constantly slacks off in their home next door. She would love nothing more than to just laze around all day too, but as a strong believer in the divine and the supernatural, she is afraid of one day receiving divine punishment should she slack off her work. (She also believes her dad will receive punishment, but won’t do anything about it - you reap what you sow, after all.)

You are her childhood friend. With a downbeat and shut-in personality, she has very few friends, and her work doesn’t allow her time to make any new ones. She’s thankful that you come to visit so often, and is always happy to see you, but… it’s the way you make jokes and poke fun at her every now and again, you know? She knows you only really do it to keep her attention, but it gets on her nerves all the same. So, if the gods won’t do their job, then she is left with no choice.
