Las Vegas to get 201 affordable apartments amid housing shortfalls
The State of Nevada continues to grow and there is a definite need for more housing, especially affordable housing.
Officials will break ground on two new affordable housing units, which will be located at Duncan and Edwards, and 28th and Sunrise.
The two new communities will bring 201 new affordable apartments to Las Vegas, serving households earning 30 to 80 percent of the area's median income.
Data from the National Low Income Housing Coalition estimates Nevada to be over 78,000 units short of affordable units, with the Las Vegas area accounting for over 60,000 units.
