What better way to test drive our brand new Weber Slate Flat Top grill than frying up a bit of breakfast here at WoWbbq. With the help from Weber veteran, Shane McBagley he guides us through this fantastic first cook on the Slate Flat Top Griddle.

The Weber Slate is already seasoned, meaning you can get it straight out of the box and cook on it. The enamel griddle makes it incredibly durable and rust resistant. This does not mean you can leave without doing anything, we recommend seasoning the griddle top after every 2 or 3 goes, with a high heat oil, such as Avocado or Rapeseed oil.

A built in digital flat top thermometer gives you a good idea of temperature and the control knobs offer you precise temperature control, showing how you can hot and warm zones, depending on what you are cooking.

Why buy a Weber Slate? Well, until this cook, I didn't think I would, but now I think I will be making some space for one as it was thoroughly enjoyable.
I like the idea of greasy cook like this being done outside and not having to clean up pots and pans in the kitchen. The grease management system, like Weber's Gas BBQs is incredibly easy to use. Burn off everything, spray some water over the plate whilst hot and scrape away debris through the hole into the grease management system.
