Ukrainians voiced doubts about Russian President Vladimir Putin's willingness to accept the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine and adhere to its terms.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that Putin is preparing a rejection of a ceasefire proposal, but is scared to say this directly to U.S. President Donald Trump.

“If he (Putin) wanted, he could have ended the war long ago. We have heard a lot of lies for the last 11 years from Putin... until it (ceasefire) happens, it is impossible to trust his words," said Kyiv resident, Oleh Basalay.

Meanwhile another resident said, " There have been so many agreements, and so many violations. I don’t believe this.”
